The doting dad was seen keeping a particularly close eye on the steps in front of him as he carefully made his way out of the bus behind his fiancee, carrying their baby protectively in the covered bassinet. And the proud-papa look certainly suited the rapper, who is currently on the New York leg of his insanely successful and critically acclaimed Yeezus tour. Kanye West Compares Himself To The Lead Character In ’12 Years A Slave’ — When Creativity’s Taken From Me, I Feel Enslaved
By Brenna Ehrlich Kanye West has been making a lot of press appearances around his Yeezus record and accompanying tour, but none so out-there as his stint on David Blaine’s ABC special David Blaine: Real or Magic? Tuesday night. Blaine, like the truly creeptastic showman that he is, thoroughly skeeved out a bunch of famous people like Will Smith and Woody Harrelson by jamming an ice pick through his hand and then asking said famous people to pull it out again. While the majority of the celebs reacted in cringing, hand-flapping horror to the stunt see Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul ‘Ye stayed cool, smiling and chuckling as he pulled the official website sharp implement from the musician’s hand. Perhaps he just went to his “happy place” which we’re guessing is some iteration of the tranquil scenes in his “Bound 2” video ? This isn’t the first time Blaine has enlisted a musician to inflict physical pain on his person; in 2012, the magician executed a stunt called “Electrified” in which he spent three days and three nights being electrocuted by the likes of Andrew W.K.
The 36-year-old rapper is a huge fan of the British period drama and reportedly decided instead of moving to the UK with Kim Kardashian, he wants to invest in creating their own version of the show’s title home in Los Angeles. Speaking to the Daily Star newspaper, a source said: “Both Kanye and Kim love the UK. They think it is so quaint and beautiful. Kanye is fascinated by European history, the aristocracy and the British royals. “He loves watching Downton’ Abbey on television and it’s exactly the kind of place he would like to live in. “They discussed moving to the UK, but in the end they agreed on bringing a bit of Britain to Los Angeles.” It is said Kanye wants a “statement home” to eventually pass down to his five-month-old daughter North, and he has apparently already invested money into researching the idea – although it would be given a modern twist.
During a podcast with screenwriter Bret Easton Ellis on Monday, the two get into a discussion about the movie in which West then goes off on a rant about how just like lead character Solomon Northrup he, too, has been enslaved. But unlike Northup, whose character is a free African American man that is abducted and sold into slavery, West says he feels enslaved when his creativity is taken away. 12 Years A Slavepremiered at the Telluride Film Festival in August and has been universally applauded by critics. In what Im dealing with even as a mega-popular-rich-celebrity-f**k-you-who-do-you-think-you-are-to-complain-about-anything situation that Im in, or in the past when Ive dealt with attempting to create in other fields or in clothing, Ive kind of been in this campaign that started with, ironically, my song, New Slaves where I was sitting in Paris and dealing with all of these companies that I promoted and I saw my friends promoted, and the reason literally why they would sell on Barneys floors, is because me and Jay Z , everyone wore it, West rambled.
